Why Renewable Energy Solutions?

Solar Power House

Solar Power House

That may seem as a very odd question. Certainly everybody knows that we need renewable solutions. The ecology of this universe is going to heck in a hand basket. Our oil reserves will soon be as extinct as the dinosaur and everybody is fighting against nuclear because he/she is afraid of being blown off what’s left of this rock. It’s not a pretty picture. But in case you’re not completely aware of all this, let me show you some statistics.

According to some of the bright minds, the world will be out of oil by the year 2056. If you don’t believe me, you can look it up. Personally, I’ll be dead and buried by when that happens (probably) but many people living today will still be on this planet in 2056. Then what? Are we just going to drill for peanut butter and pray for the best?

Now, to be honest, David Hume claims that we’ll never run out. But I place tiny faith in a man who’s been heard dead for over 230 years. I mean after all, back then we didn’t experience the consumption that we have now. Heck, we didn’t even have cars, let alone trains and jet planes. No, I don’t even assume David Hume is a good yardstick to judge the energy crisis on.

But if you really need sign which the nation has an energy problem, just take a look at all the wars that have essentially been fought over this very issue. Oh, make no mistake. All that hubbub in the Middle East is about one thing and one occurence only…oil. And the US knows that it’s days are numbered as far as relying on other sources for oil. As a result, we’re in bit of a panic mode right now.

For these reasons and tons more, we need to focus on renewable energy sources. Otherwise, we’re probably going to be reverting back to the days when we rubbed two sticks together to cook our barbeque ribs.
