The Buzz around Google Buzz

You really want to know the fastest ways to make money at home? Check This Out

As you may have heard about in recent posts, and even seen for yourself, Google launched a new social service a few weeks back called Google Buzz.

Many say that this is Google’s way of trying to compete with the top social media services, such as Facebook and Twitter which have millions of daily users.

With the launch of this by Google, it shows us they have realised it is important for them to compete in the social area of the online industry in order to still be seen as the biggest online force around.

Google Buzz is similar to other social networking sites, and offers a way to have conversations within Gmail, as it integrates a variety of media including photos, video and links, with options for public and private publication.

I think we are going to need to keep a close watch on Google Buzz, as this could just as well become yet another medium to optimise, like with Facebook and twitter which can be used to boost your site’s visibility in the search engines.

Reports state that Google Buzz will recommend posts to users which will result in passing more PageRank to the more interesting stories. We may even find that Google start to place the highly rated content within Buzz into a new social search system built into the Google interface.

This would mean that the higher the quality of your content, the higher the article will appear in the social search results.

Ecommerce Tracking in Google Analytics

You really want to know the fastest ways to make money at home? Check This Out

Google Analytics is a great tool for analysing the traffic going through a site. It has pretty much become the standard for traffic tracking.

If you have an ecommerce site with a shopping cart, the actual flow of money through the site can be tracked. It can take a little work to get it working, plus decent knowledge of how the specific ecommerce platform works.

The basic idea is that you add some JavaScript to the bottom of the last page in the payment procedure, most likely somewhere where it says something like “Thank you for your order”. It then sends details of the order to Google Analytics, including the type of product(s) and how much money went through.

Simply by providing the amount of money in each order, you can then track how much money different campaigns are making for you, from SEO campaigns to AdWords (if you have one).

Use the advanced segments in Google Analytics to track revenue, and not just visits, so rather than just monitoring traffic, you can then start to track return on investment with your various Adwords campaigns, SEO campaigns, keywords and even the percentage of views ending in a sale.
