So the 1st thing you do before you do any SEO work is decide on the target market. Once that’s settled, you need to do a little research.

Here are the steps:

1. Go to https://adwords.google.com/select/KeywordToolExternal

2. Type in main keyword related to your niche

3. Go through the entire list of keywords by clicking on them one by one.

4. Put quotation marks around the keyword and see if the competing pages are less than 200,000.

Note: More searches the keyword has, the better it is.

That’s it. It’s a little time-consuming but this is essential to your future search engine optimization. If you buy a domain name without this necessary steps, you won’t be able to reach your goal of 1st page placement for your keyword.

Remember, keywords are everything in search engine optimization.
